Alan Cantillep, M.D.
Dr. Cantillep joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2018. He practices in the Fountain Valley area; specializing in kidney diseases which includes hemodialysis patients at both Fresenius and DaVita Dialysis units.
Dr. Cantillep was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine. He attended medical school at Michigan State University, where he was a member of the Leadership in Medicine for the Underserved and Vulnerable program. He returned to sunny Southern California for residency at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. He then completed a year as a Chief Resident followed by a year as an attending hospitalist. He went on to Nephrology fellowship training at the University of Southern California. During his time as a fellow he performed research in bedside ultrasound and received an award for his quality improvement work.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Cantillep can often be found working on his cooking technique, exercising, or enjoying life with his wife and young daughter.
Sandeep Dang, M.D.
Dr. Dang joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2020 after 14 years of private practice. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and practices in the Orange County area; specializing in kidney diseases which includes hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients at both Fresenius Medical Care and DaVita Dialysis units.
Dr. Dang was raised in Orange County and even sees patients at the hospital in which he was born. He is a USC Lifer – Go Trojans! Dr. Dang attended undergraduate and medical school at the University Of Southern California Keck School Of Medicine where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. He then went on to complete his residency and Fellowship at LA+USC Medical Center.
When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Dang enjoys traveling the world with his wife and three children. He is an avid watcher of the Clippers and USC Football. Dr. Dang loves to run and bike on the beautiful Orange County trails and has recently taken up golf to give his old knees a break.
Rallabhandi Sankaram, M.D.
Dr. Sankaram, a well-known and experienced Nephrologist joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2018. He practices in the Orange County Area. Dr. Sankaram specializes in Kidney Diseases including Hypertension, Dialysis, and Transplantation. He takes complete care of all aspects of Dialysis patients at Fresenius and DaVita Dialysis clinics.
Dr. Sankaram completed his medical school at Andhra University, South India with honors. He finished his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of California in Irvine-VA Hospital. He continued his education with Fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of California, Irvine. He was an Associate Professor at the University of California in Irvine. Dr. Sankaram is Chairman of District III Delegation (OCMA) for the CMA House of Delegates for the last several years. He is an active surveyor for Joint Commission for California Hospitals and an active surveyor for the CMS and IMQ for the Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Detention Centers, in California and USA.
He loves to spend his free time with friends and family and enjoys listening to music, travels nationally and internationally and meeting people with different cultures, habits, and food. He is an Avid Golfer and watches several National and International Golf Tournaments.
Ajit Sawhney, M.D.
Dr. Sawhney joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2016. He practices in the Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach and Newport Beach area; specializing in kidney diseases which includes hemodialysis patients at both FMC and DaVita Dialysis units.
Dr. Sawhney attended medical school at SMS Medical College University of Rajasthan Jaiper, India, where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. He started his residency at Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, New York, and went on to the V.A. Hospital in Long Beach and completed his residency at University of California Irvine. He completed his Nephrology fellowship training at V.A. Hospital, Long Beach and UCI Medical Center.
In his free time, he celebrates life with his family and enjoys music and travel.
Sajeet Sawhney, M.D.
Dr. Sawhney joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2016. He practices in the Fountain Valley area; specializing in kidney diseases which includes hemodialysis patients at both FMC and DaVita Dialysis units.
Dr. Sawhney attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. After, he completed his residency at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in Flushing, New York. Dr. Sawhney completed his Nephrology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
He enjoys spending his free time behind the barbeque and making his family taste his new creations. He tries to celebrate everyday with his friends and family.
Michael Yap, M.D.
Dr. Yap joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2018. He practices in the Fountain Valley area; specializing in kidney diseases which includes hemodialysis patients at both FMC and DaVita Dialysis units. He has special interests in glomerulonephritis and electrolyte disorders, especially hyponatremia.
Dr. Yap attended medical school at the American University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine in St. Maarten where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. After completing his residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Arizona, he completed his Nephrology fellowship training at the University of South Florida.
In his spare time, he enjoys leather craft and woodcraft, motorcycling, training in Muay Thai, playing the piano and ukulele, cooking, and going out to see musicals and comedy shows with his wife. Together, they have three cats, a dog, and as of 2020, a baby daughter.
Michael Floied, P.A.
Michael Floied joined Balboa Nephrology Medical Group in 2020. He is originally from Lansing, Michigan with a background in physical therapy. Michael moved to Los Angeles and graduated from Charles R Drew University, Master of Health Science Physician Assistant Program in 2011. He relocated to Long Beach and has been practicing in nephrology ever since. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two boys, friends, listening music and watching sports especially his favorite team the Detroit Red Wings.
